Abstract:The central monitoring system is an important tool for clinical supervision of critical patients. At present, the central
monitoring system can only supervise the data of patients from single brand monitors in one ward, which cannot integrated monitor
the data of patients in different clinical unit with different brands monitor equipment remotely, nor can it evaluate the status of
patients comprehensive automatically and remotely. At early war for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the monitors and
ventilators of different brand and models were donated and installed in the interim intensive care unit, so the patients could not be
integrated monitored with conventional central monitoring system. We explored a remote integrated central monitoring and automatic
early warning system based on the Internet of things, which overcame the shortcomings of the conventional central monitoring
system. The system can not only remotely monitor real-time clinical status and alarm data of patients in different clinical units with
different brand models of monitors and ventilators, and can evaluate the patients’ condition with NEWS automatically 24 hours a
day overcome the time and space constraints. Based on the system, medical staff can access the central monitoring system through
mobile APP and PC system, and take remote consultation with other experts. In practice, the system helps medical stuff to monitor
the intensive care patients with COVID-19 timely and remotely, which plays an important role for precise treatment.
