Abstract：Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) plays a very important role in the rescue of coronavirus disease 2019
patients with severe diseases. In order to break the dependence of ECMO on imports, the localization issue of ECMO has been put
on the agenda, and the standardization research of ECMO is urgently needed. This study sorted out the ECMO’s standardization
achievements of ISO, the United States, the European Union and China, summarized the current situation of the standardization of
each country, and found that the United States, the European Union had adopted a large number of international standards formulated
by ISO, and China had developed their own standards under the premise of adopting international standards. We hope to provide
information support for ECMO standardization research and to promote the process of ECMO localization.
