Abstract:With the development of the virtual reality technology, it has been applied into more and more fields, especially in rehabilitation training. This paper introduces a virtual training platform which is based on the virtual reality technology. Three retro-reflective markers were attached to shoulder, elbow and wrist, respectively, and the coordinates of the markers are recorded by the motion capture system. A three-dimensional model of arm was built, and the virtual model was driven by the actual movement of the arm in real time. The programs were realized by the Microsoft Visual C++ and OpenGL. The platform was tested on a healthy person and a patient after stroke, and the movement of drinking was designed. The results illustrated the efficiency of the platform, and the platform is promising in the rehabilitation of upper limb in the future.
