Abstract:Objective To use histogram analysis technology to quantify and interpret the benign and malignant elastic images of breast
masses, thereby reducing the differences between different instruments and the workload of doctors, and enhancing the objectivity,
accuracy and repetition of breast tumor detection. Methods A total of 59 breast lumps from the thyroid mammary gland surgery at
the Second Affiliated Hospital of Army Military Medical University from January 2017 to January 2019 were selected to form the
study group. The masses were classified according to the BI-RADS criteria. Then the elastography function was started to collect the
data, and the ROI was manually drawn around the edge of the lesion on the elastography map for histogram analysis. The effects of
histogram analysis, shear wave elastography, and conventional ultrasound in the diagnosis of benign and malignant breast lesions
were compared. Results The diagnostic performance of histogram analysis (AUC=0.93) was superior to ultrasound elastography
(AUC=0.90) and conventional ultrasound BI-RADS classification (AUC=0.84). Conclusion Ultrasound elastography histogram
analysis method can classify benign and malignant breast lesions, and has high diagnostic efficiency. It is helpful to improve the
ability of doctors to differentiate benign and malignant breast masses.
