Abstract:Objective To reduce the probability of siphon risks by limiting the installation height of micro-syringe pump under the
conditions of existing product structure. Methods Theoretical analysis and simulation experiment were carried out to explore the
installation height of micro-syringe pump when siphon happened during different clinical use. Results Reasonable installation height
of micro-syringe pump was proposed: No more than 46 cm for 50 mL syringe; No more than 54 cm for 20 mL syringe; No more than
81 cm for 10 mL syringe. Conclusion The siphon risks can be prevented by knowing use risks and installation height of micro-syringe
pump when mechanical wear happens.
