Abstract:Early detection of fatty liver is of great importance for timely treatment and prevention of liver cirrhosis. In this paper, noninvasive
detection methods of fatty liver based on ultrasound tissue characterization were reviewed, including ultrasound elastography and quantitative
ultrasound techniques (ultrasound attenuation coefficient, envelope statistics, backscattering coefficient, spectral parameter, scatterer property).
The principles and research status of various methods for evaluating fatty liver were systematically expounded. The main conclusions
included two aspects. First, the clinical value of ultrasound elastography in evaluating fatty liver was controversial, which needed to be further
studied. Secondly, the performance of quantitative ultrasound in detecting fatty liver in different degrees needs to be clarified and improved.
The future development direction of this research field mainly includes three aspects. First, a comparative study on the performance of
various ultrasonic tissue characterization techniques in detecting different degrees of fatty liver will be conducted to clarify the performance
and characteristics of various ultrasonic tissue characterization techniques in detecting different degrees of fatty liver. Secondly, the method
of fatty liver detection will be studied by combining various ultrasonic tissue characterization techniques to improve the performance of
different degrees of fatty liver detection. Third, a new technique of ultrasonography for the determination of fatty liver will be explored
