Abstract:To design a wearable electronic antiemetic device that can effectively reduce the nausea and vomiting caused by pregnancy,
according to the principle of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and the meridian acupoint theory of Chinese medicine.
Neiguan acupoint is commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine to reduce flatulence, stomach upset, nausea and vomiting. TENS
can offset or weaken the excess bioelectricity produced by vestibulethe by simulating the biological electrophysiological signals,
which can reduce and prevent the vestibular nerve impulse to the central transmission. TENS treatment in Neiguan acupoint can
improve the tolerance of vestibular organs to various motor stimuli, so that the gastric motility wave returns to normal frequency.
Then the nausea and vomiting will stop, with a good effect of preventing vomiting. The actual test showed that TENS could
effectively reduce the reaction of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women.
