Abstract:Objective In this paper, a new method of depth detection of chest compressions based on acceleration waveform
morphological analysis was presented to simplify the hardware requirements for press depth testing during cardiopulmonary
resuscitation and made it easier to use and popularize in clinic. Methods The miniature accelerometer was used to acquire
acceleration signal during chest compressions. Then the serial peripheral interface interface was used to transfer the data in real time
to the ARM controller. After the data was preprocessed, the starting and ending points of the pressing was found through the analysis
of the shape of the acceleration waveform during the pressing process. Then we calculated the depth of the pressing by the second
integral. Results From the results of three preset depths of compression, we proved that the depth of pressure measurement could be
achieved within ±0.93 mm with 95% confidence. Conclusion The depth of compression can simplify the hardware requirements,
and the accuracy of this method can also meet the clinical needs to detect the depth of compression.
