Abstract:Objective We aimed to study the application of quantitative parameters of dynamic enhanced MRI scans (DCE MRI) in
the diagnosis of benign and malignant parotid gland tumors. Methods A total of 90 cases with 112 lumps who underwent DCE-MRI
from August 2016 to January 2016 in our hospital were included in this study. The quantitative parameters of pathological data of
lumps such as Ktrans, Kep and Ve were analyzed. In the meanwhile, the sensitivity and specificity of the DCE-MRI diagnosis were also
evaluated. Results Compared with various benign lesions, the differences of Ktrans value, Kep value and Ve value of the parotid gland
lymphoma, parotid malignancy and parotid gland mixed tumor were statistically significant (c2=11.23, 34.56 and 44.79 respectively,
P<0.01). The Ktrans and Kep values of malignant tumor lesions were significantly higher than those of mixed tumors, while the Kep
values was significantly lower than lymphoma. The threshold of malignant neoplasms and pleomorphic adenomas was Ktrans=0.31
min-1. The diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of malignant tumor lesions were 74.31% and 78.92%, respectively. Malignant
neoplasms and adenocarcinomas were compared with thresholds of Kep=0.96 min-1 and Ve=0.364. The diagnostic sensitivity and
specificity of malignant tumor were 66.32 and 69.26 respectively. Conclusion DCE-quantitative parameters in MRI scanning is
worthy to be used in the clinical diagnosis of benign and malignant parotid gland lesions with high accurate.
