Abstract:Objective This paper aims to analyze the characteristics and clinical relevance of thrombus
in patients with acute cerebral infarction at a large area by magnetic susceptibility weighted imaging
(SWI). Methods From January 2015 to January 2017, a total of 80 patients with acute cerebral infarction
in our hospital were enrolled in the study (clinical symptoms<48 h). The patients were treated with SWI
and corresponding national institutes of health stroke scale (NIHSS) score was followed up at 2 and 3
months. Results SWI showed a significant correlation between NIHSS score and clinical outcome after
acute cerebral infarction (r=-0.829, P=0.000); the comparison in NIHSS score and bleeding severity,
(r=0.779, P=0.000), (r=0.688, P=0.003), (r=0.889, P=0.000), had relevance. SWI showed that acute
cerebral infarction and acute NIHSS score change (r=-0.672, P=0.002). SWI showed a significant
correlation between thrombus length and clinical NIHSS score (r=-0.699, P=0.001) in acute cerebral
infarction; there was also a significant correlation between NIHSS score and clinical outcome (r=-0.642,
P=0.003). Conclusion SWI is specificity and sensitivity to intravascular thrombosis in large area acute
cerebral infarction, which is of great clinical significance for the diagnosis of acute cerebral infarction. It
has great clinical significance for clinical treatment and prognosis evaluation.
