Abstract:In order to study the overall Color Rendering Index (CRI) of optical endoscope systems and
the impact of each component on the CRI, the transmission rate of the endoscope was tested by piecewise
method using different types of light sources with different quality. The CRI under different system
configuration was tested. The CRI of the system was analyzed. The experiment showed that the type
of light sources had minimal impact on the transmission rate of the endoscope. By contrast, the quality
of the light sources has stronger impact on the test result of transmission rate. The selection of the type
of light sources has no significant relevance with the CRI of the system. Thus, it needs to be evaluated
independently.
