Abstract:With the advent of cadmium-zinc-telluride (CZT) cardiac-specific singlephoton emission computed tomography (CZTSPECT),
the development of nuclear medicine has a new breakthrough in the instruments and equipment. It directly replaces
traditional NaI crystal and photomultiplier tubes with stable CZT semiconductor materials. CZT semiconductor has high tissue
density and atomic number, so it has extremely high capture ability for photons in the energy detection range of SPECT. The
excellent photoelectric properties of CZT semiconductor make it the most ideal semiconductor material for γ-ray detectorscurrently
available. The technical advantages were bound to bring greater research significance and higher diagnostic efficiency for the clinical
application of CZT-SPECT. This paper reviews the application of CZT-SPECT in the heart-related disease, aims to provide reference
value for its clinical application.
