Abstract:The advent of laparoscopic surgical robots has reduced the surgical trauma of patients, shortened the postoperative
recovery period, and promoted the development of surgery toward precision and minimally invasive surgery. However, its narrow
surgical field of view and lack of physical feedback have increased the difficulty of surgery. In recent years, with the advancement
of augmented reality (AR) technology, it has gradually been widely used in the medical field. Due to its visualization characteristics,
augmented reality has unique advantages in intraoperative navigation in surgical procedures (especially in laparoscopic surgery).
In laparoscopic robotic surgery, the use of an augmented reality-based intraoperative navigation system can significantly enhance
the surgeon’s perception of the surgical environment and help improve surgical safety and precision. This paper reviewed current
research advances in augmented reality technology and its current status of application in laparoscopic robotic surgery.
