Abstract:Objective To detect the quality control of dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA), and to discuss the quality control
detection and quality management methods of DXA equipment. Methods Quality assurance (QA) module and spine phantom
of DXA equipment produced by GE-Lunar Company were used to test the accuracy and precision errors of DXA equipment,
and Minitab quality management statistical software was used for quality management. Results The absolute value of accuracy
error of DXA equipment of high, medium and low bone mineral density (BMD) was 0.10%, 0.10% and 0.40% respectively, and
the precision error was 0.70%, 0.70% and 0.80% respectively. The values of Shewhart quality control chart of high, medium
and low BMD measured by DXA equipment fluctuated randomly near the baseline, and did not deviate from Shewhart rule. The
cumulative sum quality control chart of BMD, bone mineral content and area were measured by DXA equipment on the water
phantom of spine from L1 to L4. The plotted points on the quality control chart fluctuated randomly near the center line, and all
cumulative sum lines were within the upper and lower control limits. Conclusion Through regular quality control testing and
quality management of DXA equipment, the working status of the equipment can be grasped in real time, and accurate and reliable
test results can be provided for clinical and scientific research work.
