Abstract:Objective To compare the performance parameters between disposable electrocardiogram (ECG) dry electrode based
on flexible electronic technology (flexible ECG dry electrode) and common ECG electrode (common electrode), to discuss the
characteristics and development prospects of flexible ECG dry electrode. Methods The flexible ECG dry electrode and common
electrode were selected to perform performance tests according to YY/T 0196-2005 standard for Single-Use Electrocardiogram
Electrodes, including alternating current (AC) impedance, direct current (DC) offset voltage, compound offset instability and internal
noise, defibrillation overload recovery and bias current tolerance, then the test results between the two electrodes were
compared. Results The comparative test showed the AC impedance and defibrillation overload recovery of the flexible ECG dry
electrode did not meet the requirements of YY/T 0196-2005. The results were quite different from that of the common electrode,
but other performances all met the requirements of YY/T 0196-2005. Conclusion The flexible ECG dry electrode is quite different
from the common electrode in electrical performance. A variety of samples are needed to study the detection method and develop the
detection method for the flexible ECG dry electrode for further verification.
