Abstract:Objective To develop a kind of multi-function electric cervical traction device which can measure and control the angle,
force and time that determine the cervical traction treatment effects. Methods The linear actuators and servo motor combined the
precision mechanical design methods was used to integrate all functions of the cervical traction into an organic whole. The high
reliability and stability of Delta PLC was the core of the control system. The tension sensor combined the servo control system was
used to measure and control the traction force. The rotary encoder and the tilt angle sensor were used to measure the horizontal
rotation angle and the vertical pitch angle respectively. Results The developed model machine was made of compact structure and
was convenient to use. The traction control accuracy was ±1 N. The angle control accuracy was ±1°. Conclusion The intelligent
multifunctional electric cervical traction device realizes the precise measurement and control of the horizontal (side bending) traction
angle and the up and down (flexion) traction angle.
