Abstract:Objective To discuss the influence of two different reconstruction algorithms on calcification elimination of coronary spectral imaging. Methods Altogether 22 cases of patients with coronary calcification underwent coronary spectral imaging. All coronary segments with calcification were reconstructed with two different algorithms (Detail versus Standard) and processed with the material differentiation (MD) software to remove calcification. Two radiologists evaluated the effectiveness of calcification removal according to a 4-score method. Moreover, the χ2 verification method was applied to compare the calcification elimination between two groups. Results Among 22 cases, 85 coronary calcification lesions were revealed clearly. There was significant difference between Detail Group and Standard Group in effectiveness of calcification removal. Calcification lesions in Detail Group was removed more completely. Conclusion Among two reconstruction algorithms of coronary spectral CT imaging, the Detail algorithm could eliminate calcification more effectively, but influenced the display of of vascular lumen. The Standard algorithm cannot remove the coronary wall calcification completely, but was helpful to accurately assess the local calcified vascular lumenin combination with single energy imaging.
