Abstract:Objective To explore the causes of secondary pollution during manual cleaning of medical devices and the continuous
quality improvement based on ATP biofluorescence detection. Methods On the basis of field inspection, the manual cleaning process
was analyzed. The manual cleaning process of multiplexed equipment and relevant regulations on the use and management of related
materials were improved based on the intervention of high-risk factors and the results of ATP biofluorescence detection. Results
After continuous quality improvement, the mean ATP of the related equipment used in manual cleaning decreased significantly. The
ATP-biofluorescence detection rate of manual cleaning equipment increased from 80.1% to 94.6%. The difference before and after
refining process implementation was statistically significant (P<0.001). Conclusion Improving manual cleaning process can improve
operation compliance, improve the quality of manual cleaning of reusable equipment, and reduce the risk of hospital infection.
