Abstract:Objective To increase the transmission speed of PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) so as to solve the problem in doctor’s latency access to the image information. Methods Without increasing the storage space, a reasonable allocation of storage waterline threshold and images were automatically deleted by setting the configuration parameters. Automatic search of the patients’ data from over ten thousand frames in near-line storage of PACS was realized and then manually deleted in the database server. Results Through follow-up observations for a long period of time, the phenomenon of slow transmission of the image data in each room hardly occurred. The waterline in PACS server storage space was maintained within a stable range. Diagnostician’s access to the image data from the PACS server also had sped up. Conclusion The practice successfully solved the shortage of server disk storage space without increasing the storage space and relevant costs, which provided references for other hospitals.
