Abstract:Objective To determine the accurate scanning scheme for CT localization image of children’s lung. Methods The lung CT images of 618 children were analyzed and divided into male group and female group. The age M (month) and height H (cm) of all children were recorded, and the actual lung ?eld range (cm) (the range from the lower edge of the seventh cervical vertebra to the bottom of the lung) was measured. Binary linear regression was used to analyze the relationship between lung ?eld range and age and height. In addition, 50 male and 50 female patients were randomly selected. According to the range calculated by linear equation, the CT localization image was scanned, and paired t test was performed with the actual lung ?eld, with P<0.05 as the standard of signi?cant difference. Results The regression equation of lung ?eld range (Y) with height (H) and age (M) was Y=0.087H+0.056M+3.4 for male and Y=0.088H+0.045M+3.1 for female. There was no signi?cant difference between the precise scanning range of lung ?eld and the actual range, P>0.05. Conclusion In children’s lung scanning, the scanning range of localization image can be accurately determined according to the age and height, which can effectively avoid the error of conventional empirical scanning and reduce unnecessary radiation.
