Abstract:Objective To understand the application standards of intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) technology in thyroid
surgery. Methods We analyzed the standards based on the laryngeal nerve dissection and injury type, testing principle, necessity,
operation procedure, signal interpretation and results, as well as the monitoring of superior laryngeal nerve, accessory nerve and
nervus phrenicus, neural restoration and technology promotion. Results Though the IONM was increasingly applied in clinic, the
application of the IONM standard was still not enough. Conclusion It could be better to protect the nerve, reduce the operation
complications and serve the clinical work through research on the standards of IONM.
