Abstract:Objective As infrastructures in hospitals, calling devices played an important role in health care. In order to improve health care in wards, research on how to configure calling devices rationally were carried out according to the characteristics of different wards. Methods Through the analysis of the performances and application features of existing calling devices in different wards, calling devices and inpatient areas were classified systematically. Measures to make scientific and reasonable configuration of the devices were researched according to the structure and functional characteristics of different wards. Results According to the analysis of application features of calling devices in wards, hospital wards were classified into three groups, which have the characteristics of mobility, stability and including special needs, respectively. Calling devices could be divided into two types, one of which includes additional function and the other is portable. The classification provides references for the configuration of calling devices. Conclusion To improve the guard capability of wards, detailed analysis of the characteristics of wards were required and reasonable arrangement of hospital wards and calling devices should be conducted.
