Abstract:Objective To investigate the value of abdominal B ultrasound in the diagnosis of elderly psychiatric patients. Methods Abdominal B ultrasound was conducted in 500 cases (the observation group) of elderly psychiatric patients and 350 (the control group) cases of normal subjects, comparisons of the abnormal rate, the abnormal situations of different organs, and the abnormal abdominal B ultrasound results between the two groups were made. Results The abnormal rate of the observation group was 45.83%. There was a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). The detection rate of kidney stones showed no significant difference (P>0.05). The detection rates of gallstones, fatty liver and splenomegaly of the observation group were higher than the control group, with significant differences (P<0.05). The abnormal results of abdominal B ultrasound in the observation group were positively correlated with age, body weight, duration of hospitalization and medication time, and were unrelated with gender, occupation, duration, and an unrelated psychiatric classification. Conclusion Abnormal organs changes of elderly psychiatric patients can be examined by abdominal B ultrasound. Further promotion is worthwhile.
