Abstract:Objective To overcome the defects of YY0175-2005 scalpel handle such as the mismatching between the handle and the blade, and the possible injury when disassembling the scalpel blade, to prevent sharp instrument injury of the scalpel, “a folding
portable-type modular scalpel handle with omnidirectional configuration” was developed. Methods Through the mechanical performance test and animal simulation operation test methods, the new scalpel handle was evaluated and compared with ordinary
scalpel handle in terms of convenience, safety, orientation, ease of grip, skid resistance, facile of picking up, adjustability, portability,
man-machine performance and other aspects. Results The comprehensive performance of the folding portable scalpel handle was
superior to that of common scalpel handle. Conclusion The double-sided removable ligand and multi-function handle has excellent
efficacies in safe, convenient, damage resistant, universal matching and carrying storage. It is suitable for itinerant medical treatment,
rescue and relief or emergency medical support for field surgery.
