Abstract:Objective To design a magnetic device for hepaticojejunostomy based on magnetic compression technique. Methods The
technical difficulties of high choledochointestinal anastomosis surgery and the causes of postoperative complications were analyzed.
Furthermore, combined with the principle of magnetic pressing technology, a magnetically compressed high choledochointestinal
anastomosis device was designed. Results The magnetic compression devices were placed in the hepatic ducts, and the jejunum sides,
respectively. Attraction between the two magnets allowed tight compression of the hepatic ducts and jejunum. An anastomosis was then
gradually formed after ischemia, necrosis of the tissue between and healing of the tissue outside the two magnets. Conclusion The
newly designed magnets could be used in hepaticojejunostomy with advantage of simpleness, safety, and easy-learning.
