Abstract:Upconversion luminescence (UCL) is a low-energy photon emission phenomenon in which rare earth ions absorb two
or more low-energy photons. The upconversion luminescence mechanism, the luminescence characteristics of nanomaterials
were summarized, and the applications range of upconversion materials in bioimaging, bioassay, photodynamic therapy, and drug
transportation were outlined. Moreover, the application of up conversion luminescence detection system in different fields is
summarized in depth, which is instructive for further application of up conversion materials in detection equipment.
