Research and Implementation of Clinical Pathway Information System for Digital Hospitals

Abstract:Objective To implement the informatization of clinical pathway to solve various problems exsit in traditional clinical pathway which regards paper as its medium. Methods Based on the the theory of modern software engineering, advanced technologies including Cache, CSP and Extjs are adopted to establish the clinical pathway management system with evidence-based function which supports HL7 standard and regards diagnosis and treatment plan of patients as its principal line. Results The informatization management of clinical pathway is achieved by applying the system, which has reduced the average hospital stays and operation waiting time for patients. The average hospitalization costs and medicine costs of patients are mostly decreased or flatted. Conclusion Medical behaviors have been standardized by applying the system, which has decreased the medical costs and optimized the medical quality.
