Abstract:Objective In order to assist in the treatment of the clinical symptoms of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease (COPD) and slow down the disease progression, a self-service assistant therapy instrument was designed. Methods
This instrument systematically integrated two functions of high frequency chest wall oscillator (HFCWO) and traditional
Chinese medicine moxibustion, and had the functions of atomization and acupoints roller massage. Based on the patient data
imported by HIS system, this instrument could intelligently select the scientific and reasonable treatment procedure, which
was simple and convenient for the patient to operate autonomously. Results A total of 90 patients with COPD were randomly
divided into three groups, including the self-service assistant therapy instrument group (30 cases), single HFCWO group (30 cases),
and single moxibustion treatment group (30 cases). The results showed that pulmonary function FEV1 (%Pre), COPD assessment
test , and 6 minutes walking distance of patients in the self-service assistant therapy instrument group were significantly improved,
compared with the single therapeutic apparatus groups (P<0.05). Conclusion This instrument has good effect on the adjuvant
treatment of patients with COPD, showing the value of this instrument in practical application.
