Abstract:Objective To research the effect of real-time monitoring software to the turnaround time (TAT) in clinical laboratory emergency biochemical test. Methods Compared the qualified rate of TAT and duration changes in the process of biochemical emergency specimen reception (or acquisition) to inspection, before and after 3 months of monitoring. Results The qualified rate of TAT before monitoring was 93.1%, and that after monitoring was 98.8%, showed statistical difference. The average duration in the process of biochemical emergency specimen reception (or acquisition) to inspection was 89(75~101) min and 53(46~61)min, before and after monitoring respectively, showed statistical difference. Conclusion Real-time monitoring software can be applied to effectively shorten TAT of emergency biochemical results.
