Abstract:Objective To investigate and analyze the current situation of biochemical analyzer allocation in Liaoning province.
Methods Biochemical analyzer from Liaoning province was surveyed with designed questionnaire. Allocation level, composition,
comparison of domestic and imported devices on allocation, price and yearly changes of medical devices from three levels of hospitals
in rural and urban areas were calculated. Results On average, 0.9, 1.5 and 1.9 biochemical analyzers per hospital were respectively
allocated in primary, secondary and tertiary hospitals in Liaoning. The amount of biochemical analyzer in urban and rural hospitals
was 1.2 and 1.0, respectively. The proportion of full-automatic biochemical analyzer was 66.3% and semi-automatic biochemical
analyzer was 33.7%. The localization rate of semi-automatic biochemical analyzer and full-automatic biochemical analyzer was
92.1% and 56.5%. The localization rate of full-automatic biochemical analyzer was 90.3%, 33.3% and 4.5% in primary, secondary
and tertiary hospitals. The average price of imported full-automatic biochemical analyzer was 5.9 times than that of domestic, and
that of semi-automatic biochemical analyzer was 5.4 times than that of domestic. Moreover, both the equipment performance and
after-sale service satisfaction were higher than that of domestic. Conclusions The level and composition of biochemical analyzer
allocation in urban and rural areas and in different levels of hospitals varied significantly. Domestic medical equipment manufacturing
enterprises should take measures to improve the level of scientific research and innovation, improve services and narrow the gap
with imported medical equipment. Moreover, the government should create a suitable environment for domestic enterprises to grow.
