Abstract:Objective To explore the related factors of the operating room’s allocation scale in comprehensive hospitals. Methods
The number of the operations, the working time of nurses (the difference between work time and 8 h per day), overtime (time away from
8 h) and time spent in surgery was calculated and compared by systematic review method from June 2010 to May 2011 (one year
before operating room construction) and from June 2011 to May 2012 (during operating room constructon). Results There was no
significant difference in the number of operations between the two periods (P>0.05). The working time and overtime of nurses after
improvement were longer than that in the previous year significantly, while the occupied time of the operating room was lower than
before significantly. Conclusion The number of operating room should be matched with beds of the surgical departments. We should
take good use of the operating room and hospital staff reasonably to improve the utilization ratio of operating room furthest.
