Abstract:This paper described the development process of a filter device installed on the oxygen and
air inlet end of the ventilator, which was mainly comprised of a transparent tube wall, a filter element, a
pneumatic interface and other structures. The filter had the characteristics of filtering the air particulate
matter and pathogen of the respirator as well as real-time observation of the gas source condition, and
could solve various problems caused by the poor gas source of ventilators. Clinical results showed
that the device could effectively filter out all kinds of particulate matters in the air source of respirator,
prolong the service life of the machine, and reduce the incidence of ventilator associated pneumonia.
