Abstract:Objective To evaluate the performance of OPTICCA portable blood gas analyzer. Methods
A preliminary evaluation of the performance of OPTICCA portable blood gas analyzer was performed
according to Preliminary Evaluation of Clinical Laboratory Quantitative Detection Methods - Approval
Guide the Second Edition (EP10-A2), including pH, PCO2 (Partial Pressure of Carbon Dioxide), PO2 (Partial
Pressure of Oxygen) and other items. Results The bias and the total imprecision of the low, medium, high
pH levels were 0.075%, 0.165%, 0.079% and 0.045%, 0.041%, 0.035% respectively. The bias and the
total imprecision of the low, medium, high PCO2 levels were -0.83%, -1.09%, -0.98% and 2.234%,
1.14%, 1.08% respectively. The bias and the total imprecision of the low, medium, high PO2 levels were
-0.556%, -0.352%, -0.312% and 1.024%, 1.061%, 0.723% respectively. Conclusion The blood gas
analyzer demonstrated good performance in routine testing of clinical samples as well as its small size
and portability, which was suitable for POCT (Point of Care Testing), military and non-military detection.
