Abstract:due to its special properties Nitinol alloy plays an increasingly important role in implantable
medical devices. Vena cava filters made of nitinol alloy have undergone development for a long period of
time, through which the effectiveness of vena cava filters in the prevention of pulmonary embolism has
been affirmed. This paper introduced properties of nitinol alloy and briefly explained the design features
of seven different kinds of vena cava filters.
