Abstract:Objective To analyze the extent of influence of alarm noises on patient stress response in the
Hemodialysis Center. Methods Through observation of 239 hemodialysis patients’ stress responses to
alarm noises during hemodialysis in a third-grade class-A hospital, a statistical analysis was conducted
on the level of patients’ response combined with analysis of other influential factors such as human,
machine, and environment. Results The difference of the influence level of the patients’ stress response
to alarm noses in different treatment wards of Hemodialysis Center was statistically significant (χ2=30.91,
P<0.05); significant differences also exist among different hemodialysis treatment wards (F=25.25,
P<0.01). Conclusion To manage the alarm and malfunction in different treatment wards in a timely
manner can reduce the physiological and psychological impact of the clinical setting on patients and
thus improve the service capacity in the Hemodialysis Center.
