Abstract:Objective To investigate the application value of color Doppler ultrasound and chromosomal
analysis in the diagnosis of fetal lymphatic cysts. Methods 34 pregnant women (13~29 weeks) were
selected, who were diagnosed with fetal lymphatic cysts by color Doppler ultrasound in our hospital
from January 2010 to February 2015. The amniotic fluid culture was collected in the 34 patients for fetal
chromosome analysis. Results 27 cases showed cysts on the neck, 6 cases showed cysts on the limbs, 1
case showed cysts on the neck and limbs. 11 cases showed cystic edema on fetus skin, 7 cases showed
pleural effusion, 3 cases had signs of fluid accumulation in the abdominal cavities, 2 cases had signs of
pericardial effusion. Among 34 fetuses that were diagnosed with fetal lymphatic cysts by color Doppler
ultrasound, 26 cases showed fetal chromosomal abnormalities. Conclusion Color Doppler ultrasound is
a noninvasive and painless imaging method that is especially useful in the diagnosis of fetal lymphatic
cysts in prenatal care. About 75% of the fetal lymphatic cysts is related to chromosomal abnormalities.
The combination of typical characteristic display via ultrasonic imaging and the chromosomal analysis of
amniotic is of great significance in the diagnosis of fetal lymphatic cysts and provides clinical guidance
to patient care.
