Abstract:Objective To calibrate the main technical indexes of the centrifuge in the clinical laboratory, such as speed, time and temperature, and to correct the error in the calibration process so as to ensure the inspection quality and the normal operation of the equipment. Methods The speed, time and temperature were calibrated and measured respectively according to the values setting in the normal operation of the centrifuge. ±50 r/min (or relative error 2%), ±2 s and ±2℃ were taken as the control limits respectively. The technical parameters were corrected and then further tested and confirmed. Results The time setting of 33 units of centrifuges did not need to modify. Speed correction was needed for 30% of the centrifuge. Only 1 low temperature refrigerated centrifuge needed to be revised in its temperature. The corrected speed error was within the range of ±50 r/min with the maximum relative error ranging from 16.435% to 0.761%. And the temperature error was ranging from -3.33 to -0.43℃. Conclusion The error of speed, time and temperature during the process of the use of the centrifuge could be corrected though calibration. It was important to keep centrifuges running in the best state to guaranty the quality of clinical laboratory.
