Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of virtual touch tissue quantification(VTQ) in the diagnosis of fatty liver. Methods 136 patients with fatty liver were divided into mild fatty liver group (n=52), moderate fatty liver group (n=54) and severe fatty liver group (n=30) while 60 healthy volunteers were enrolled as control group. The shear wave velocities (SWV) of all the subjects underwent VTQ examination were measured and analyzed. Results There were significant differences among mild fatty liver group, moderate fatty liver group and severe fatty liver group on average SWV (P<0.05). There were no significant differences between mild fatty liver group and control group on the average SWV (P=0.654) while there were significant differences between control group and moderate fatty liver group as well as severe fatty liver group on the average SWV (P<0.05). The contrastive results showed that the average SWV of severe fatty liver group was significant lower than that of control group. Conclusion VTQ with good clinical value can be used in the quantitative diagnosis of fatty liver.
