Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of PDCA cycle management on improving the clinical application reliability of syringe
pump, so as to reduce the failure rate. Methods A total of 130 syringe pumps in our hospital from March to December of 2020 and
2021 were selected as the research objects. PDCA management was not be implemented from March to December in 2020, it was
implemented from March to December in 2021. The fish bone diagram method was used to analyze and summarize the failure causes.
The improvement effect before and after the implementation of the PDCA management mode was compared. Results After the
implementation of the PDCA management mode, the average monthly maintenance times of the syringe pump was reduced. Besides,
the qualified rate of the first quality control test increased. On the other hand, the number of unqualified syringe pumps caused by the
main failure reasons decreased, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The implementation of PDCA
management mode significantly reduces the failure rate and effectively improves the reliability of syringe pumps in clinical application.
