Abstract:Objective Four measurement methods were used to determine the output factors of each collimator of Luna-260 gamma
knife, which can provide a reasonable measurement method and reference basis for the quality control of gamma knife.
Methods Measurement of micro diamond detector (PTW 60019), measurement of ionization chamber (PTW 30010), measurement
of ionization chamber (IBA cc04) and EBT3 film were used for measurement. Under the same temperature and pressure measurement
conditions, each measurement method was irradiated at the same time at the center position of the gamma knife. The output factor
were calculate after normalization and compared with the output factor in the planning system. Results When measuring the output
factor of collimator larger than the field size of collimator 3 (14 mm×14 mm), the results of various measurement methods had little
difference, and the maximum error was -0.9%. However, when measuring the output factor of collimator smaller than the field size of
collimator 3 (14 mm×14 mm), the measurement results of different measurement tools were significantly different. Especially for the
minimum size of the field Collimator 1 (6 mm×6 mm), the maximum deviation was -72%. Conclusion Due to the particularity of
the collimator, the Luna-260 whole-body gamma knife can obtain accurate results by selecting EBT3 film or the sensitive and small
gem detector 60019 for the measurement of the field output factor.
