Abstract:Objective To explore the value of root cause analysis (RCA) in improving the cleaning quality of pulsating vacuum
cleaner for cavity precision instruments. Methods A total of 465 lumen precision instruments recovered from the disinfection supply
center of our hospital from January to July 2020 were collected and cleaned with pulsating vacuum cleaning sterilizer (control
group). According to the RCA method to find the root cause of the unqualified cleaning equipment, develop targeted improvement
measures and gradually implement. A total of 465 cases of lumen precision instruments cleaned by pulsating vacuum cleaning
sterilizer after the implementation of RCA quality management in the disinfection supply center of our hospital from October 2020 to
April 2021 were collected and observed (observation group). The qualified rate and sterilization rate of lumen precision instruments
before and after the implementation of RCA were evaluated by visual method, protein residue detection, ATP detection and bacterial
colony detection. The work ability of the two groups before and after the implementation of RCA and the satisfaction evaluation of
each department on the work quality of disinfection supply center were compared. Results The qualified rates of protein residue
detection, ATP detection and sterilization in the observation group were better than those in the control group (P<0.05). There was
no statistical difference in the passing rate between the two groups (P>0.05). The professional knowledge and practical operation
assessment score and instrument cleaning quality satisfaction score of the observation group were higher than those of the control
group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion RCA can be used in the cleaning quality management of
disinfection supply center and combined with pulsating vacuum cleaning sterilizer to clean precision instruments in the cavity, which
can significantly improve the cleaning quality and satisfaction of instruments, and is worthy of popularization and application.
