Abstract:Objective To compare the generality, adaptability, and consistency of bone mineral density (BMD) phantoms named
Huake QC-2, QRM-ESP and BFP-Cirs026 under dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). Methods GE-Lunar and Hologic-
Discovery DXA were used to test the simulated vertebrae of the three phantom respectively, and the measurement results of BMD
were compared and analyzed. The least square method was used to fit the linear regression equation, the measurement results
were corrected and the correlation was analyzed. Results The relative errors of the three phantoms measured by GE and Hologic
DXA were very large (-9.1%-31.3%) respectively. After correction by linear regression equation, the relative errors range between
the corrected values and the nominal values of the corresponding phantom was from - 2.5% to 5.5%. There was a high linear
correlation between the measurement results and the corresponding phantom nominal values, and the correlation coefficient
r>0.99. Conclusion The three kinds of phantom can be used for DXA verification and test, and the measurement results have good
consistency, among which the ESP phantom has the best adaptability.
