Abstract:Objective In order to intuitively display the dripping rate and residual fluid volume of intravenous infusion, the smart
infusion monitoring system is designed and applied to improve the clinical work efficiency, promote rational clinical drug use,
and improve patients’ medical experience. Methods In view of the problems such as failure to prompt the end of infusion and
invisible drip rate, the intelligent infusion system was used to display the remaining liquid amount and dripping speed, so as to solve
the problem of early warning at the end of infusion. By comparing the performance of bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology
with other internet of things technologies, the advantages of BLE technology in the application of infusion monitoring system
were pointed out, and the construction scheme of intelligent infusion monitoring information system was proposed and applied.
Results After the intelligent infusion system based on BLE technology was used, the average fluid change time of nurses was
shortened from (4.37±1.79) min to (2.47±0.89) min, and the call of infusion rate in the ward was reduced from 65.31%±4.65%
to 38.69%±3.96%, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion The smart infusion system based on BLE technology can
improve clinical work efficiency, create a quiet ward, promote clinical rational drug use, improve patients’ medical experience.
