Abstract:This paper expounded the design and application of an orthopedic lateral position filming bracket, which mainly consisted of the base bracket, fixed column, lifting column, handle-retaining bolt, cassette-fixed upper and lower frame as well as omni-directional wheels. This simply-structured and practical bracket demonstrated its advantages of convenience, stably-fixed cassettes and excellent imaging quality. In contrast with the conventional lateral position filming method, application of this bracket allowed for selection of cassette dimensions and directions according to the surgical regions as well as pre-operational fixation of the cassette. Moreover, it was so easy-to-operate that one single person could complete the operations and there was no need to package the X-ray film. As a consequence, the orthopedic lateral position filming bracket could prevent the medical staff from radiation exposure and increase the successful rate of one-time filming.
