Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between the 18F-FDG SUV (standardized uptake
value) and the morphology as well as pathologic type of lung cancers. Methods Retrospective analysis
was made on the PET/CT images of 68 lung cancer patients.Patients were divided into three groups
according to the size of tumor: maximum diameter of tumor≤3 cm, maximum diameter of tumor 3~7 cm,
and maximum diameter of tumor>7 cm. Patients whose maximum diameter of tumor≤7 cm were divided
into the squamous carcinoma group, adenocarcinoma group and small cell carcinoma group according to the
pathologic type; While the adenocarcinoma patients whose maximum diameter of tumor <7 cm were divided
into the phylloides group and sentus group according to the form of tumor. Then analysis of the 18F-FDG
SUV(SUVmax means the maximum value measured) was conducted for each group to figure out whether
there were statistical differences.
