Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of tension-free vaginal tape obturator (TVT-O) technique in the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Methods A retrospective analysis of 63 SUI patients (observation group) who received TVT-O surgery in our hospital and 52 SUI patients (control group) who received TVT surgery in our hospital from March 2010 to December 2013 was conducted in the study to evaluate the clinical effect of TVT-O. Results The average operating time of observation group and control group were (25.0±2.1) min and (34.8±5.5) min; the average operative blood loss of observation group and control group were (24.0±5.4) mL and (35.4±7.8) mL; the catheter retention time of observation group and control group were (43.2±5.0) h and (46.1±6.0) h; inpatient time after surgery of observation group and control group were (2.5±1.2) d and(5.4±0.8) d, and the general effective rates of observation group and control group were 96.8% and 86.5%. There were significant differences in average operating time, average operative blood loss, inpatient time after surgery and the general effective rate of between the two groups (P<0.05), while there were no significant difference in the catheter retention time between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion TVT-O is an effective and minimally invasive treatment method for female stress urinary incontinence, which enjoys the advantages of safe and simple operation and less complications.
