Abstract:The design and application processes of an automatic enteral nutrition system based on the wireless sensor network are introduced in this paper. The system mainly consists of the automatic enteral nutrition system, bedside wireless sensor nodes and wireless sensor network. With the application of the system, the temperatures and infusion rates of various infusion tubes for enteral nutrient solutions can be monitored at the central monitoring station. Thus the accuracy and scientificity of enteral nutrition infusion can be improved and the occurrence rate of complications can be decreased. The clinical results of the system show that the system which runs smoothly and safely and owns advantages of high degree of automation and strong adaptability can reduce the enteral nutrition complications caused by improper operations. Thus the system is worth to be promoted in clinic.
