Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of high-frequency ultrasound in the diagnosis of upper extremity nerve entrapment syndrome. Methods Ultrasound features and electromyography results of 32 patients with upper extremity nerve entrapment syndrome confirmed by surgery were retrospectively analyzed, and then the diagnostic accuracies were compared. Results Among the 32 cases, 16 were median nerve entrapment, 15 were ulnar nerve entrapment, and one was involved radial nerve. The diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound was 93.8%, while the diagnostic accuracy of electrophysiology was 87.5%. Conclusion High-frequency ultrasound which can clearly show the location, scope and extent of upper extremity nerve entrapment, has a high diagnostic value and can be used as the preferred diagnostic method.
