Abstract:Objective To reduce the incidence of fault of volumetric infusion pump by developing specific quality control measures
based on the analysis of the fault data of volumetric infusion pump. Methods The maintenance records of volumetric infusion pumps
in our hospital in the past five years from 2013 to 2017 were collected using the medical equipment management software, and the
Laplace transform formula was used to analyze the reliability of the above statistical data and verify the failure trend of volumetric
infusion pumps. According to the characteristics of the time distribution and causes of the failure of the volumetric infusion pump,
a variety of targeted quality control interventions were conducted and its effect after intervention was observed. Results Laplace’s
trend test inferred that the reliability trend of volumetric infusion pumps deteriorated in 2018. Through the development of targeted
interventions, the total number of failures of volume infusion pumps decreased by 68% in 2018 compared with 2017, and the time
distribution of failures was stable. Conclusion Specific quality control strategy can effectively reduce the failure rate of volumetric
infusion pumps and ensure the safety of clinical use of volumetric infusion pumps. This method can also be applied to other medical
equipment, providing a reference value for the equipment management department of medical institutions to better combine quality
control means to ensure the safety of clinical use of medical equipment.
