Abstract:Objective To investigate the feasibility of combination scanning of coronary CT angiography (CCTA) and abdomen
contrast-enhanced CT scanning using 256 row wide detector. Methods A total of 75 patients who needed coronary artery CT
angiography and upper abdominal contrast-enhanced CT scanning were collected prospectively. Objective evaluation indexes of the
images were measured and recorded: CT value, SD, SNR, CNR and radiation dose. The percentage of interpretable segments and
the image quality of the upper abdomen were evaluated subjectively. Results The CT values of the root of ascending aorta, the left
main coronary artery, the proximal segment of left anterior descending branch, the proximal segment of left circumflex branch and
the proximal segment of right coronary were (443.9±84.9), (421.1±92.5), (410.8±88.1), (401.7±86.5) and (418.9±92.2) HU,
respectively. The SD, SNR, and CNR in CCTA were 32.3±5.9, 14.1±2.9 and 17.2±3.4. A total of 925 coronary arteries in the
whole group were included in the evaluation range, of which 67.6% (625/925) had excellent image quality, 21.8% (202/925) had
good image quality, 9.2% (85/925) had medium image quality, and 1.4% (13/925) had poor image quality. Conclusion The one-step
scanning of coronary CT angiography combined with abdomen contrast-enhanced scan on patients can reduce radiation dose and
dose of contrast medium injected while maintain the image quality.
